Clean Village is a non-profit organization that positively impacts our community by cleaning up the streets of Kensington while creating employment opportunities for those who live in our neighborhood.

Driven by a love of our beautiful community, one steeped in history, Clean Village was founded by a small group of local residents who took ownership of a suburb that was falling into disrepair due to a lack of municipal maintenance.

Clean Village has spent the last 6 years working in Kensington, through donations made by our community and business owners to do the following;

  • Remove litter and dumping where possible
  • Cleaning street curbs and sidewalks and removal of weeds and plants
  • Grass cutting on sidewalks
  • Maintain roads where possible, clearing of storm water drains where possible
  • Remove unwanted graffiti, posters, room to rent signs, etc
  • Liaise with municipality and parks department regarding roads, illegal posters, broken or damaged infrastructure electricity issues, etc.
  • Report service delivery issues to relevant CoJ departments like Pikitup, JRA, City Parks, Joburg water, etc
