About Us

Clean Village (Reg. No. 2016/159207/08 ) is a non-profit organisation that aims to make a positive difference in our heritage suburb, by helping to clean the streets in Kensington.

History

Clean Village was launched on 21st April 2016 by Kensington residents Sue Retallack, Michael Blake and Kevin Mark Pass who had noticed that pavements and street curbs were being sorely neglected and that Kensington was falling into a state of disrepair.

They decided to take action and formed Clean Village NPC and thanks to the support of residents and some businesses in the area, Clean Village has grown and is now in its 6th year of operation.

Current Directors

In early 2021, after 5 years of service, Michael Blake and Kevin Pass decided it was time to move on so Andre Grobler and James Donaldson agreed to step into the vacant director roles – they bring with them new resources and energy and we are delighted to have them working alongside Sue.

Financials

Everything we do here at Clean Village is to improve the environment and the lives of our community. As such all the financials of the organizations are open for review at any time.

As an organization that relies entirely on donations, it is paramount that we have a culture of trust, and it is for this reason that every single donation is tracked from the minute it comes into our bank account. We have full accounting of where all our donations are spent and oversight of registered accountants.

All our accounts are completely transparent and available for review by the public.

We also have Tax Clearance Certificates as well as NGO certificates as a non-profit, non-government organization and these are also available upon request.
